Introduction

The Club has grown over many years and we have a wide range of events for our club members. Members often welcome guests to take part in our bonspiels. The list below provides more details of our club leagues and competitions and the range of challenge matches against other clubs.  (See Membership page for more details about playing with our club)

Inverkeithing League

12 skips lead their rinks to challenge for the most important trophy in the club in the 2023/24 season. There is anticipation  that the outcome of the League will not be decided until the last round of games where 8 of the rinks play on the same night.

St. Margaret's League

This league provides a competitive opportunity for our Thirds to challenge for an automatic promotion to the Inverkeithing League in the following season. Main league skips play lead to provide support and encouragement!  As we reach the final matches in this league the title will be decided between Fergus Shaw and Alastair Ritchie.

Knockout

Two groups of four rinks compete for this trophy in the last few weeks of the season.

Pairs

This event commences with a round robin before the top two pairs compete for the right to represent the club at the West of Fife Province pairs.

Points

This is the opportunity for individuals to demonstrate their prowess on the ice by delivering a wide range of individual shots from draw to inwicking etc.

Bonspiels

These events highlight all the best qualities of our club. There are three bonpsiels in our programme. The Jim Temple bonspiel is the first event of the season.  The Lamond and Murray bonspiel takes place in February, with the Closing bonspiel bringing the season a conclusion.

Challenge Matches

During the season we have a range of matches where we play other clubs.  These include Dunfermline. Broomhall, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline Ladies, Aberdour, Cadder, Boreland, KCDC and Preston. In addition we are invited to take part in  bonspiels organised by other clubs including Markinch, Tulliallan and Dunfermline.  A new challenge was introduced with Cupar CC in memory of Alan Clark.

External leagues

The club has increased the participation in external leagues. These include; Kinross Curling Trust (KCT) Div 1, KCT Div 3,  Thursday leagues  (2 rinks) and Donald White League all at Kinross and the West of Fife Province League at Kirkcaldy and the Lomond League at Perth.

Grand Match

There are always members ready to take up the challenge of outdoor curling - sadly the thrill of the outdoor grand match is receding into the past (see article about Douglas Lamond in memories and stories) . Since the inaugural indoor grand match the club has entered several rinks on each occasion, with many long standing links established with other clubs.  We relish the increasingly rare opportunities to play on outdoor ice at Otterson Loch.

Other events

We also encourage members to play in other leagues and events, which we believe enhances the reputation and curling experiences for our club members. These include the Sunday league at Kinross and the Wednesday Seniors League at Kinross.

Club Dinner

This event (traditionally) on the last Friday in February is a highlight of the season. Trophies and prizes are presented.
